All the latest EPL transfer news

The transfer window has been open six days and as yet, things have remained fairly quiet in terms of actual deals being agreed, however there looks likely to be a flurry of activity over the next few weeks as Premier League clubs finalise the deals to bring in the new faces they feel they need in January.
Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini is reportedly close to tieing up deals for two players. First is Rubin Kazan full back Cristian Ansaldi. The Argentinean will cost Mancini around £6m to bring in to Eastlands from Russia. Mancini is also reportedly “very close” to finalising Patrick Viera’s arrival at the club from Inter Milan, even if Arsene Wenger called Viera’s arrival back in the Premier League “unlikely”.
Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti has promised to run naked around the training facility should he sign a player in January. It’s therefore somewhat frightening to learn that Chelsea are being strongly linked with a £22m move for Sampdoria striker Gianluca Pazzini, with Tottenham and Manchester City also said to be keen on the striker. Ancelotti has also been linked with a move for Bayern Munich’s want away midfielder Franck Ribery, who has also been linked with Barcelona, Inter and Real Madrid.
Wenger meanwhile has been busy himself. With Nicklas Bendtner’s return from injury looking likely to take longer than expected, the Arsenal boss has reportedly opened talks with West Ham over a £9m move for striker Carlton Cole. This seems somewhat ironic given that Cole is currently out injured himself, but who am I to question the Arsenal bosses wisdom in such matters?
Rafa Benitez however looks like he could have a busy January. Birmingham City have had a £9m move for Ryan Babel turned down, but they could be back and if they can match the £12m Liverpool paid for him, Alex McLeish may get his man. Andrei Voronin is being linked with a £2.5m move back to Hertha Berlin, where he spent last season on loan and Philip Degen is reportedly a target for VfB Stuttgart. Andrea Dossena’s move to Napoli looks imminent too, once the snow on Merseyside clears. Coming in to Anfield could be Argentinean midfielder Maxi Rodriguez who may join for a cut price fee given that he is out of favour at Atletico Madrid and can leave the club in June on a free. Benitez has also been linked with Bordeaux striker Marouane Chamakh and Napoli striker Ezequiel Lavezzi in the past day or two.
Birmingham boss Alex McLeish has been busy, as well as the Babel bid mentioned above, McLeish is also reportedly close to landing Spanish midfielder Michel from Sporting Gijon for £3m and is reportedly keeping a close eye on Rangers striker Kris Boyd and Peterborough United’s Aaron McLean.
Finally, no transfer news roundup would be complete without what Harry Redknapp has been up to at Tottenham. So far we’ve heard mention that David Bentley could be on his way with either Sunderland or Atletico Madrid his most likely destination. Roman Pavlyuchenko has been strongly linked with Sporting Lisbon and going the other way could be Sporting’s midfielder Miguel Veloso whom Harry is reportedly very keen on. Harry is also being linked with bringing Eidur Gudjohnssen back to the Premier League from Monaco, although Sam Allardyce’s Blackburn are also said to be keen on the Icelandic star.
No doubt a lot more will happen over the next week or so.
